Trips For 2010

The 2010 schedule has not been fully developed and suggestions are welcome.  Too many of the trips seem to be on the Suwannee so other ideas are welcomed.

It would be nice to have a Saturday day trip on the Santa Fe, Holmes Creek, the Alapaha, the Saint Marks, or the Wacissa.

The September trip will be still another Suwannee trip with put in at SR 6 near the Georgia line and take-out at White Springs. The distance is about twenty-six miles.  The trip includes the Big Shoals and the water can be shallow at atimes. The dates will be the Thursday through Saturday, September 9-11, 2010,  following Labor Day.

The annual Okefenokee swamp trip will be October 2-4, 2010.  The first choice of trails will be the Red Trail with put-in at Kingfisher Landing, camping at Maul Hammock and Big Water shelters, with take-out at Stephen Foster.  This is a long trail and there is no dry land on the route.  The trip will be limited to ten persons and preference will be given to the veterans who make a lot of trips.

The Thanksgiving weekend trip will be November 26 & 27, 2010, and will be a lower Suwannee River trip with put-in at Wanee Landing, camping at Hart Springs County Park, and take-out at Otter Springs County Park.

Day trips will be announced by e-mail and on the website.  Keep posted and make your suggestions.
